Celebrex 200mg capsule contains the active ingredient Celecoxib. It belongs to the family known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID), and specifically a sub-group known as cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors. It is used in adults for the relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. In conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, excess production of prostaglandins by your body can lead to pain and inflammation. This medicine works by decreasing the production of prostaglandins, effectively reducing pain and inflammation.

Do not take Celebrex 200mg capsule if you are allergic to Celecoxib or any of its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you had reactions to sulfonamide medicines, suffer from ulcers or bleeding in the stomach or intestines, or experienced adverse reactions to NSAID medications like aspirin. Before starting the treatment, inform your doctor because it is recommended to not take this medicine if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Do not take this medicine if you have severe liver or kidney disease, have inflammatory intestinal conditions, or have heart-related issues such as heart failure, heart disease, or circulation problems. Additionally, if you have had surgeries on leg arteries or have a history of blood circulation problems, this medicine usage should be avoided. This contains lactose. If you are sugar intolerant, consult your doctor before using this product. This medicine is for adults only, it is not for use in children.

Inform your doctor about if you have a history of stomach or intestinal ulcers or bleeding (avoid if currently present), are on acetylsalicylic acid or antiplatelet therapies, use blood clotting or corticosteroid medications, or simultaneously use other non-acetylsalicylic NSAIDs like ibuprofen. Report your doctor if you have conditions such as smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, compromised heart, liver, or kidney function, fluid retention, dehydration, past severe allergic reactions to medications, ongoing infections, or are over 65 years old. Monitoring may be necessary. Notably, Celebrex 200mg capsule could mask fever or infection signs. Remember, alcohol combined with NSAIDs may increase gastrointestinal risks.

Introduction

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common but challenging medical condition in which there are limited options. In recent years, there have been increasing concerns and questions regarding the use of traditional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) as a treatment option. Although there is not a clear understanding of the pharmacological effects of NSAIDs, there is some evidence to suggest that non-selective NSAIDs might have a different mechanism of action compared to traditional NSAIDs, which may be beneficial for some patients. Additionally, there is evidence to suggest that the non-selective NSAIDs may have fewer gastrointestinal adverse effects than traditional NSAIDs. In this review article, we review the literature regarding the safety and efficacy of the COX-2 selective NSAIDs Celebrex (celecoxib) in the treatment of NAFLD.

Review Article

In the past, non-selective NSAIDs, which inhibit the production of cyclooxygenase (COX), have been the subject of a lot of research. They are often associated with gastrointestinal effects due to the inhibition of COX-2.

Celecoxib (Celebrex) is a COX-2 selective NSAID and was first approved by the FDA in the 1990s in combination with risedronate and diclofenac. However, more recently, celecoxib has been approved in two other formulations: celecoxib XR (Celebrex XR-XL) and celecoxib XR-XR (Celebrex XR-XR). In 2012, an FDA-approved COX-2 selective NSAID (Celebrex XR-XL) was approved for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

In 2016, a clinical trial was conducted with celecoxib to assess the safety and tolerability of celecoxib in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The trial enrolled 979 patients who received either celecoxib or placebo for 2 weeks, while a comparison was made with a comparator, risedronate (Vyleesi). The trial also compared the safety and tolerability of the two NSAIDs, celecoxib XR-XL and celecoxib XR-XL-XL. The researchers found that celecoxib XR-XL-XL demonstrated better tolerability compared with celecoxib XR-XL and risedronate.

In 2017, a study was performed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the COX-2 selective NSAIDs, including celecoxib (Celebrex XR), in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In this study, celecoxib XR-XL was significantly more effective than celecoxib XR in reducing lung inflammation and improving survival rates in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The authors concluded that celecoxib XR-XL showed superior tolerability than celecoxib XR and it is more likely that it is more effective than celecoxib.

Table 1Summary of the efficacy and safety of the COX-2 selective NSAIDs celecoxib (celecoxib) and celecoxib XR (celebrexib) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) based on the clinical trial.

As of June 2018, there were 3 studies that evaluated the efficacy and safety of celecoxib (Celebrex XR) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) based on the patients’ clinical data. The trials included a total of 4 clinical trials and were performed in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). All of these trials were conducted in conjunction with a multidisciplinary approach to disease management. The study was conducted in 2 countries: Australia (NCT00221201), the United States (NCT02532558) and New Zealand (NCT03559955). The trials were conducted using a single-dose design, and there were no other comparators.

Pfizer Inc., the world's largest pharmaceutical company, recently announced a settlement with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) that allows it to stop selling prescription drugs. The settlement resolves allegations of illegal marketing of prescription drugs, including Celebrex and Celecoxib, which are brand-name drugs. Pfizer has agreed to pay $1.2 billion to settle the cases, which it said had been in the U. S. since 2000. The drug industry has been investigating the issue of its use in treating pain and inflammation, and is continuing to develop new research on the potential drug's effectiveness as a pain relief medicine.

Pfizer Inc. and its subsidiaries announced a settlement agreement in November 2014, which will resolve allegations that it marketed and promoted prescription drugs for purposes of its consumer health business. The settlement resolves allegations that Pfizer was marketing prescription drugs for uses not specified in the labeling and promoted for the purpose of making sales of those drugs without first obtaining authorization from a licensed medical practitioner. The settlement resolves allegations that Pfizer's subsidiary engaged in practices that promoted or attempted to promote certain of its products without obtaining authorization from a licensed medical practitioner.
